Christmas Recap

We're finally getting back to a normal schedule so we have a bit of time to catch-up on the blog. In great Christmas Eve tradition (ok, so it's the 2nd year of this tradition!), we baked chocolate chip cookies for Santa and put them out on the plate Lauren so creatively painted this year. We took a photo of her in the bumbo again although this year she was still awake and rather tempted by the cookies. It is hard to believe the difference one year makes.
















Lauren was so excited to share Christmas with her cousin Sydney. We made them pose as they waited at the top of the stairs Christmas morning before heading down to find all the gifts under the tree. Well worth it as we have a bunch of CUTE photos of them together!











Lauren and Sydney loved all their presents and got to enjoy their cousin's gifts as well which worked out pretty well, until it didn't.

























After Christmas morning with the Ivey's at our place, we headed over to GG and Papere's to go Christmas Wilbering. In terms of presents the highlight was definitely the new snowboards for Brooke and Ryan. With plenty of snow left over from the blizzard earlier in the week all the kids were quick to try them out in the backyard.













Then it was back to our house for an incredible traditional English dinner (thanks JoJo and Gont!!!). The kids were more than happy to provide the night's entertainment.

Actual conversation in the family room overheard during dinner:
Saylor: Hi Sydney. Can I please play with your new guitar?
Sydney: Sure. Here it is!

Christmas miracles do happen!


All the holiday excitement and hours of playing with new toys resulted in great naps for Lauren... for a couple days. Her usually 1 to 2 hour naps turned into 3+ hour naps. Nice break for mommy and daddy!
