Last week was Lauren's first "partial" week of daycare (I go back to work Oct 1st but I dropped her off a few hours each day this week). Of course she was fine, it was me that was having a hard time. I dropped her off the first day and had a hard time leaving. I took forever signing in and dropping off all the staples (diapers, wipes, bottles, extra outfits, etc.). I guess everyone could tell I was lingering so they suggested I just stay and hang out as I had done in the past but I knew I needed to leave. So, I left without crying (ok, my eyes weren't dry but I wasn't "crying") and made it all the way around the corner to Lee Anne's house. The next couple hours felt like an eternity but I returned to find she slept most of the time I was gone. I was a bit surprised considering she doesn't nap for me during the day. I guess that is why we chose this daycare though; they have the magic touch. It gets easier each time I drop her off and I get really excited when I go to pick her up especially when she wakes to the sound of my voice with a smile on her face.
