Determined

At 6 months, babies are suppose to be able to roll from their back to their belly. She rolled from her belly to her back at just 6 weeks...but she is now waiting as long as possible to roll the opposite way. She will roll almost over, and even lick the ground or toy we place there, but realizes she will end up on her belly and rolls back. We tried to sit behind her to entice her but she knows our trick and won't bite. It is pretty cute when she bends her neck back to see us though. I'm giving it two weeks before she finally completes the roll.
BTW: if you listen closely it sounds like she says "daddy" in the middle of the video.

Sitting (kind of)

Lauren is now able to sit (or more wobble) on her own. She doesn't always do so well as she sways side to side before tumbling over. As she gets tired, she just melts down into a ball.
This is a video of Lauren two weekends ago lounging in her pajamas and showing off her new trick.

6 Months

It is hard to believe Lauren is already 6 months old. She had another great visit to the pediatrician which included a shot but she didn't even whimper about it. The best part of the whole visit though was she finally got the go ahead for food. The extra calories may help Lauren move up the ranks from 7th percentile in weight (55th in height...Wilber genes I think). Lauren has seemed ready for food for quite some time and she has taken to eating like a champ. Even better, she has been sleeping through the night. YEAH!!!
Here are some shots of her first meal. It was later in the evening when we fed her and so when we put her in the Bumbo she started to get fussy. When we gave her the first spoonful of rice cereal she stopped fussing completely, smiled super wide, then proceeded to eat the whole bowl with no fuss!
