Memorial Day Weekend

It is getting to that time of year when we live weekend to weekend. What better way to start it than by celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary with perfect weather.

On Saturday, we headed out for the 2 hour cruise south to the Cambridge Hyatt where we got a slip for the night. The resort is rather large so having our bikes to get around was perfect especially since Karen and Pete stayed at the hotel. We took a leasurely ride around the golf course and rest of the grounds. This looks like a great place to bring the family in the future. There are several pools and at night, they show movies over the water with all the kids in the pool.

On Monday, we headed to Chestertown for the Memorial Day parade. Here you can see Saylor being attacked by the parade mascot...Crabby.

Chestertown

We took advantage of the beautiful weather on Saturday by loading up the boat, picking up Karen and Saylor, and heading for Chestertown. The water was calm which made for a very smooth, relaxing ride.

Our new boat seat (marine grade beanbag) came in the mail just in time for last weekend. It is even more comfortable than I imagined while providing lots of support. I have a feeling this is where I'll be taking lots of naps in future. Karen and Saylor were the first ones to try it out and both seemed to approve (especially Saylor with a nap on the way to and back from Chestertown).

We took our red folding bikes and toured the town before meeting back up with K&S for lunch. The restaurant at the marina has changed ownership this year and the food is great. We enjoyed our lunch while Saylor provided lots of entertainment for all those dinning on the back deck.

Stop Poking Me!

Our niece, Sydney, turned one this week. I can't believe how fast the year has passed and can't even imagine our little unborn child celebrating his/her first birthday. So much to look forward to :)

With less than 10 weeks to go, this baby continues to grow at a rapid rate. There were a couple days lately when the baby was a lot quieter than usual. No worries as she/he would still move around but nothing like the big dance parties in the past. Then I noticed my belly had gotten bigger and you could make out limbs when in the right position. At least I am guessing it is either an arm or leg as I could feel something long and thin. Mike keeps pleading with me to stop poking the baby but my curiousity gets the best of me.

Well, with a growing belly and no updated photos for the slideshow, I thought it was time for a new belly shot.

Happy Mother's Day

What better way to spend Mother's Day weekend than by registering for iBaby. We headed out on Saturday to buy buy Baby, along with about 500 other new parents and paretns-to-be. We decided to hit this store first because they were so helpful in explaining the various features when we stopped by to look at strollers a couple months ago.

The aisles were crowded, you couldn't get to half the products, no sales associates were available to answer questions, and there were several crying babies. It didn't take us long to figure out this was a bad idea.

So, we waited until later in the evening and hit Babies R Us. They didn't have everything we wanted so we finished up at Target today. We even came home and decided what color to paint the nursery. So, our next project will be clearing out the room and painting. We'll be sure to post photos once it is complete.

First Play Date

It seems like a long time since we've posted photos so for those of you who enjoy pictures, I hope you enjoy this post :)

This Saturday was the first time I've been out on the water this season. The weather was perfect. Mike was a little nervous with me getting the lines but I climbed to the bow and held my post. I didn't do so well and two of the lines landed in the water but a little more practice and I'll be as good, if not better, than last season.

We took our girl out for our first playdate. We followed For Pete's Sake (our nickname for Pete's boat) out of the jetty just as Fuelish Pleasure (Pete's Dad) was headed in so we all went out to frolick on the bay. It wasn't as smooth as the leasurely ride Mike and I had taken earlier. At one point, Mike looked over and said he wouldn't be suprised if I ended up going into labor on the boat. I want our baby to be a water rat but that it taking it a little too far.

After working up our appetite, we loaded up in Pete's boat and headed over to celebrate Marilyn's birthday and pick crabs. Thanks to Pete, I think Mike and I have mastered the art of picking crabs. Should make for a much more productive crab season. We may have to put Pete's crabbing license to good use.

Sunday was calling for a storm so we decided to head home and tackle our first project in preparation for the baby. We organized the garage with a new storage system and shelves. I didn't realize it would take so long but couldn't be happier with the result.
