Before today, we've been wiping Lauren off with a warm, wet washcloth but haven't given her a real bath. The pediatrician doesn't recommend soap or lotions nor did she see a need for baths as babies barely get dirty. Considering Lauren will be 3 weeks old on Thursday, we figured it was about time for a bath. So we broke out the bath seat, grabbed a hooded towel, some baby shampoo and a washcloth as we headed for the kitchen sink.
Lauren was super cooperative. To be honest with you her first bath was more like a shower, (we took some video and watching it back we realized it was not as gentle as it probably should of been) but she never cried! Pretty good sign for future water adventures.

As if her bath wasn't exciting enough, she went for another weight check at the pediatrician's office this afternoon. Lauren has gained another 10 ounces in just 7 days putting her over her birth weight. This is a huge success as we no longer need to set our alarm for night feedings. Starting tonight, we'll wait for Lauren to cry out with hunger pains in an effort to wake us for meal time. We'll see how it goes.
